Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Travis Barker has served as Chief Executive Officer since early 2014, prior to that he assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer. Travis joined SES in 2007 with over 25 years of exploration industry experience.  From 1997 to 2007 he held various management roles with CGGVeritas. From 1986 to 1996 he spent 10 years with Western Geophysical as a Field Service Engineer. After beginning his seismic career upon graduating from DeVry University in 1986, Travis has gained many years of experience working on seismic crews and has extensive knowledge of the seismic industry. Travis has spent the majority of his seismic career in international operations. Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Trey Barnes joined SES in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer.  Prior to joining the company he served as CFO for Lloyd’s Register Americas, Inc which focused on independent technical engineering and business assurance work throughout North and South America.  Before joining Lloyd’s Register in 2011, Trey worked in the seismic industry for four years with Geokinetics, Inc. participating in the funding and integration of both the Grant Geophysical and PGS Onshore acquisitions.  During his tenure at Geokinetics, Trey served in many capacities including operations controller, investor relations, treasury, financial reporting, and multi-client management. 

Trey is a Certified Public Accountant and was formerly with UHY.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting from Abilene Christian University along with a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Houston.


Vice President of Sales&Marketing - Land/Western Hemisphere


Ray Mays joined SES in March 2013 as VP of Sales & Marketing Land, North America and currently serves as VP of Sales & Marketing Land, Western Hemisphere.  Ray has over 30 years’ experience working in the Acquisition Seismic industry with P&L responsibilities encompassing all functions related to geophysical data acquisition.   Ray has held various VP and Management positions in operations and QHSES with Mobil Oil (now ExxonMobil), Halliburton, Veritas DGC, Inc. / CGG Veritas and Global Geophysical Services.  Over the course of his career his roles and responsibilities have encompassed all regions around the world.  Ray has been a member of many of the geophysical industry societies and served as the chairperson for the IAGC HSE committee.

Ray has an Associate Degree from Tyler Jr. College in Surveys and also completed the Executive Business Program for Managers from Rice University's Jesse H. Jones School of Business in 2004.

Vice President - Marine and Transitional Zone

Mike has more than 30 years of marine experience in the Seismic Industry. Mike’s initial career was with Geophysical Services Inc. working as an observer on various vessels. He later moved into a Field Engineer support role through several company transitions. Mike’s second phase of his career was nine years for Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) as Technical Manager for the PGS fleet.

In 2003 Mike left the seismic industry to complete his MBA Degree at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Upon graduating in 2005 Mike accepted a Product Management role at Input Output. For the three years prior to joining SES, Mike held the position of Director of Sales Asia Pacific for ION Geophysical.
